Beach Hotel
Casa de Campo Resort and Villas, a sprawling 7,000-acre legend in La Romana, reigns as the Dominican Republic's gold standard for luxury living, where manicured golf greens roll into turquoise sea and a recreated 16th-century village hides Michelin-level dining surprises.
The 247 hotel rooms wrap guests in mahogany warmth with 42-inch flat-screen televisions, minibars, cavernous walk-in closets, and black marble vanities leading to bathrooms stocked with premium toiletries and deep soaking tubs. Private balconies or terraces spill onto garden paths or ocean horizons, while every stay includes a personal four-passenger golf cart—your key to zipping between villas, beaches, and sunset spots across the estate like a local VIP.
Beach Club by Le Cirque plates seafood towers and grilled wagyu under thatched roofs steps from the sand. La Cana by Il Circo mixes global plates with Caribbean flair, La Casita at the Marina channels Spanish tapas with harbor views, and La Piazzetta hides inside Altos de Chavón's cobblestone village for wood-fired pizzas and live opera echoes in the amphitheater. Lago Restaurant kicks off days with sunrise omelets and fresh guanábana juice. Three Pete Dye golf courses crown the lineup—Teeth of the Dog snarling at #1 in the Caribbean with seven holes kissing the sea—plus a 400-slip marina for yacht arrivals, 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, polo fields where pros train, and a private beach with non-motorized watersports from hobie cats to stand-up paddleboards.
The spa layers on Dominican cocoa scrubs and hot stone massages in open-air palapas, while a fitness centre overlooks the links for early spin classes. Nightly shows range from merengue bands to fireworks over the marina, and the concierge books everything from deep-sea fishing charters to amber mine tours or helicopter hops to Saona Island's starfish bars. Altos de Chavón's stone streets—modeled after a Tuscan hill town—host art galleries, a design school, and surprise concerts under the stars.
Set 4 kilometres from downtown La Romana's sugar baron mansions, 1.6 kilometres from Puerto La Romana's baseball stadium where winter league games roar, and a smooth 45-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport via the Coral Highway, Casa de Campo Resort and Villas turns the Dominican Republic's southeast coast into your private kingdom of beaches, fairways, and unforgettable evenings.
